Hot on the heels of his breakthrough ‘Serenade’ and ‘Knife Edge Heart’ 12”s, Ransom Note Records linchpin Timothy Clerkin returned earlier this year with the hotly tipped Unborn EP. Comprising four slices of leftfield, rave-infused behemoths, it further added to his growing catalogue of precision-tooled acid anthems. We’re incredibly excited to announce a remix EP, featuring three variations on the original themes of Unborn EP, from an all-star cast of some of our favourite producers.
First up is style icon, multi-instrumentalist, DJ extraordinaire and mega-producer, Curses. He takes Akathisia on a dubbed out journey via chugging guitars, acidic synth stabs, swirling arpeggios and beyond. This one hits hard!
We at R$N Towers were so impressed with techno overlord Mike Davis’s recent Anti-Mimesis EP that we simply had to ask him for a remix. He whips down Some Kind Of Threat’s trousers and has his filthy Techno way with it. Not for the faint of heart, this rolling techno odyssey will leave you sweaty, panting and depleted.
Finally, one of R$N’s core artists and globe-trotting, acid mega-star, we welcome back Madrid’s Bawrut, who turns Unborn into a bouncing, uplifting rave anthem, full of lovely, bubbling analogue synthesisers and a drop that will have you pogoing on the spot.
Snappy breakbeats, acid-drenched samples, and ’90s techno textures abound on this five-track knockout from the South Korean DJ and producer. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 13, 2023
